Mrs. Dorothy Collins

When peace like a river, attendeth my way, when sorrow like sea billows roll, whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, it is well, it is well, with my soul.  It is with sincere sympathy the Davis Funeral Home, 301 North Oak Street, Ocilla Georgia 31774, pause announce the death and home going celebrations for Mrs. Dorothy Collins of 43 South Kirby Street, Alapaha Georgia, 31639.  Born November 16, 1931, in Alapaha Berrien county Georgia to the late Mrs. Merdell Allen and the late Mr. McCoy Allen.  Mrs. Collins received God's call to her heavenly home on Friday November 7, 2025 at Berrien Oaks Nursing Center in Nashville Georgia surround with her loving family.  She leaves to cherish her memories, her children:  Mr. Kenneth Andrews of Tampa Florida, Mrs. Vannatte Edwards of Jacksonville Florida, Mrs. Arlene and Greg Pitts of Port St. Lucie Florida, Mr. Quincy and Dorothy Collins of Pompano Beach Florida, Ms. Debra Collins of Alapaha Georgia, Mr. Darrin and Mrs. Linda Collins of Deerfield Beach Florida, Mr. Morris and Mrs. Delonda Collins of Davison, Michigan, Mrs. Wylene and Mr. Marlon Tisby and Ms. Shirlene Collins all of Alapaha Georgia, and Mr. Kelvin Tyrone Collins of Deerfield Beach Florida, along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins relatives and friends.  A home going celebration for Mother Dorothy Collins is planned for Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. from Alapaha city school Gym, 9462 US Highway 82, Alapaha Georgia.  Pastor Shirley Strawter will deliver the eulogy.   Interment will follow in the West Fletcher cemetery Highway 82, west in Alapaha Georgia.  Mother Collins will lie in state at, Bethel A.M.E. Church on Saw Mill Road in Alapaha where paster Willie Jackson serves as pastor, Friday afternoon 2:00 until 7:00 p.m.  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements for Mrs. Dorothy Collins.
