Mrs. Cynthia Dianetta Pettiford Woodard

Where is the Blessedness that I knew, when First I saw the lord?  Where is the soul refreshing view of Jesus and his word?    It is with sadness in our heart that the Davis funeral home, 301 North Oak Street, Ocilla Georgia pause to announce the death and home going celebration for Mrs. Cynthia Dianetta Pettiford Woodard, of Ocilla.  Born March 14, 1960, in Tifton Georgia to the late Mrs. Rosa Lee Hall Pettiford and Rev. Edsel Pettiford Sr.  Mrs. Woodard received God's call to her everlasting home on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the Irwin County Hospital in Ocilla Georgia surrounded by her devoted family.  She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband: Mr. Terry Woodard of Ocilla Georgia.  Their children:  Mr. Vertis and Mrs. Wendy Lane Jr. of Ocilla Georgia, Ms. Monica Rawls of Cartersville Georgia, Mr. Machael and Ms. Brooke Carroll Lane of Blackshear Georgia, Mr. Demitrius and Mrs. Tosha Lane of Cartersville Georgia, Ms. Shaquita Woodard of Fitzgerald Georgia and Mr. Terrance Woodard of Atlanta Georgia.  Her father: Rev. Edsel Pettiford Sr. of Tifton Georgia.  Her Siblings: Mr. Edsel and Mrs. Velma Pettiford Jr. Mr. Ronnie Pettiford, Mr. Thomas Pettiford, Mrs. Gwendolyn and Mr. Bobby Green, Ms. Selena Pettiford all of Tifton Georgia and Mr. Dewayne and Mrs. Bridgett Hall of Milledgeville Georgia along with a host of grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.  A home going celebration for Mrs. Cynthia Pettiford Woodard is planned for Saturday July 6, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. from the St. Phillips Missionary Baptist church 505 East 5th street Ocilla Georgia, where Rev. Fredrick Sanders serves as pastor, and will deliver the eulogy and committal.  Interment will follow in the Ocilla city cemetery, 301 East Valdosta Ave in Ocilla.  Mrs. Woodard will lie is state at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla, Friday morning 11:00 until 6:00 p.m. and Saturday Morning 10:30 until 12:00 noon.  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.  Please continue to pray for the Woodard and Pettiford families.

George HymanWhat a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear.  What a privilege it is to carry, everything to God in prayer.  Oh, what peace we often forfeit, oh what needless pains we bear.  All because we do not carry, everything to God in prayer, and so on the hymn goes.  It is with sincere sympathy, the Davis funeral home, 301 North Oak Street, Ocilla Georgia   31774 pause to announce the death of Mr. George Willie Hyman of Fayetteville North Coralina formerly of Mystic Georgia.  Born October 13, 1951, in Mystic Georgia to the late Mrs. Mattie Bell Crumedy Hymn and the late Mr. James Hymn.  Mr. Hymn received God's call to his eternal home, on Monday morning June 24, 2024, at Carolina Rehab Center of Cumberland, in Fayetteville North Carolina.  He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 37 years: Mrs. Janice Brown Hyman of Fayetteville North Carolina.  His son: Mr. Lamont Mayo of Tifton Georgia. His siblings: Ms. Helen Baker of Fitzgerald Georgia, Mrs. Rosie and Mr. Monroe Crockett of St. Petersburg Florida, Ms. Patricia Turner of Ocilla Georgia, Ms. Charlotte Middlebrooks of Mystic Georgia, Mr. Larry and Mrs. Gussie Hyman of Fitzgerald Georgia, and Mr. James and Mrs. Sharon Hyman of Columbia South Carolina, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. A home goings celebration for Mr. George W. Hyman is planned for Saturday Juned 29, 2024 at 12:00 noon from the Pine Bloom Missionary Baptist church, Mystic Georgia where Rev. Ronald Dixon serves as pastor and will deliver the eulogy and committal.  Mr. Hyman will lie in state Friday morning 11:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla.  Interment will follow in the Oak Grove cemetery, Highway 32 West, Irwinville Georgia.  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.  Please continue to pray for the Hyman and Brown families.

Born May 26, 1974, in Maimi Dade County Florida, to Mrs. Jennifer Brown and the late Mr. J. C. Brown. Ms. Brown received God's call to her eternal home on Sunday June 16, 2024, at Emory university Hospital in Atlanta Georgia, she is survived by her parents: Mrs. Jennifer and Mr. Jimmie Turner of Fitzgerald Georgia. Siblings: Mr. Alan Wade Whitman, Mr. Julius Paul Brown, Mr. Bishop Sparky Wense, Mr. Regionald Turner, Mrs. Angela Pruitt, Mrs. Jaymi Cree White, and Ms. Michelle Flagg.  Her loving Fur babies: Salt and Pepper, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins relatives and friends. 

A home going celebration for Ms. Shenika Shantee' Brown is planned for Saturday June 22, 2024, at 12:00 noon from the Holsey Chapel Christan Methodist Episcopal Church at 515 East Suwanee Street in Fitzgerald Georgia where Rev. Jarius Sanford serves as pastor.  Rev. Douglas Taylor will deliver the eulogy and committal.  Interment will follow in the Evergreen city cemetery, Evergreen Road, Fitzgerald Georgia.  Ms. Brown will lie in state at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla, Friday morning 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.  Please continue to pray for the Brown and Turner Families.

Willie C. Mobley serves as pastor and will deliver the eulogy and committal.   Interment will follow in the Broxton city cemetery in Broxton Georgia.  Mr. Simpson will lie in state at the Little Zion Baptist church in Broxton, on Friday afternoon 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.  Please continue to lift the Simpson family up in prayer.
