Mr. Lonnie Clark Morrison

Lonnie MorrisonIt is with sincere sympathy that the Davis Funeral home of 301 North Oak street, Ocilla, Georgia announce the Death of Mr. Lonnie Clark Morrison, 106 Wright Dr. Ocilla Georgia.  Born September 25, 1958 in West Palm Beach Florida, to Mr. James Hatchett and Ms. Eula Mae Clark.  Mr. Morrison Departed this life on Tuesday December 11, 2018 at Tift Regional medical center in Tifton Georgia.  Mr. Morrison by his sister Ms. Deborah Ashley and brother Mr. Edward Lee Morrison both of Ocilla Georgia.  His Aunt Ms. Christine Hallback of Riviera Beach Florida along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.  Funeral arrangements for Mr. Lonnie Clark Morrison are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by the Davis funeral home of Ocilla.   Please continue to lift the family up in prayer.

Ms. Annie Ruth Tiggett

Annie Ruth TiggettWith sincere sympathy the Davis funeral home 301 North Oak street Ocilla, Georgia announces the death and homegoing services for Ms. Annie Ruth Tiggett age 89 of Ocilla who passed away on Wednesday November 28, 2018 at Pruitt health care in Ocilla Georgia.  Born May 17, 1929 to the late Mary Alice Clifford and Rueben George.  Ms. Tiggett is survived by her children:  Mr. Marshall Merritt of Ocilla Ga., Ms. Shuntel McClendon, Ocala Fl., Ms. Joyce L. Clark, Ocala Fl., Ms. Linda C. Merritt, Chamblee Ga., Ms. Bevel J. Collins, Lauderdale Lakes, Fl., Ms. Mae A. Dunn-Williams, Lauderhill Fl., Ms. Angea L. Stewart-Woods, Memphis Tn., Mr. Michael (Dinah) Merritt, Marietta Ga., Mr. Leander (Vonic) Merritt, Indianapolis Ind.  Also a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins relatives and friends.
A home going celebration for Ms. Annie Ruth Tiggett is planned for Saturday December 8, 2018 at 11:00 in the morning from the Bethlehem Baptist church 500 North Lincoln street in Ocilla, where the Rev. Willie C. Mobley serves as pastor.  Rev. Melvin D. Harper will deliver the eulogy, interment will follow in the Ocilla cemetery on North Oak Street.  Ms. Tiggett will lie in state at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla, Friday morning 10:00 until 7:00 in the evening, and Saturday morning at the church 10:00 until the funeral hour.The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.  Please join us as we lift the family up in prayer.

Ms. Margaret Lockhart

margaret lockhart2With sadness in our hearts the Davis funeral home of 301 North Oak Street Ocilla Georgia, announces the death and home going services for Ms. Margaret Lockhart of Lithonia Ga.  Born June 6, 1960 in Ocilla Georgia Ms. Lockhart entered into eternal rest on Sunday December 2, 2018 at Amicasa Health care in Decatur Georgia.  Ms. Lockhart leaves to cherish her memories, her siblings:  Ms. Linda Fay Wright, Decatur Ga., Mr. Jerry Lockhart and Mr. Zackery Battle of Ocilla, Ga., Mr. Willie Wade Lockhart, and Ms. Akisha Lockhart also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.  Home going celebrations for Ms. Margaret Lockhart is planned for Saturday December 8, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. from the New Birth Life Changing church located at 127 Condor Dr. Ocilla Georgia where the Rev. Charles Anderson Sr. serves as pastor, and will deliver the eulogy.  Interment will follow in the Ocilla city cemetery West on Valdosta Ave.  Ms. Lockhart will lie in state at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla, Friday morning 10:00 until 7:00 in the evening. and Saturday morning 10:00 until 1:00 p.m.  Please continue with us as we lift the family up in prayer.   The Davis funeral Services of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.

Mr. Jimmy Lee Lockett

Jimmy LockettWith sincere sympathy the Davis Funeral home, 301 North Oak Street, Ocilla Georgia announces the death and home going celebration for Mr. Jimmy Lee Lockett of Ocilla, Georgia.  Born July 19, 1954 in Irwin county Georgia to the late Mr. Charlie B. Lockett and Ms.Ida B. Lockett.  Jimmy accepted Christ at an early age and connected with the New Bethel Baptist church under the leadership of the late Rev. T. J, Sneed.  In the most recent years, he connected with the Hope and Deliverance church in Fitzgerald, Georgia.  He attended the public schools in Irwin county before relocating to New York City. 

Ms. Cheryl Brown Johnson

Born December 6, 1962 in Fitzgerald Georgia to the late Mr. Eddie Williams and Ms. Geraldine Brown.  A graduate of Fitzgerald High school, Lay  truly  had a love for people and loved making them smile, which led her to becoming  a Dental assistance at  Dr. Wayne Maris's  Dental clinic in Fitzgerald Georgia.  A strong believer in her faith in God, Lay along with her husband was  faithful members of the Little Flock Missionary Baptist church in Gladys Georgia under the leadership of Bishop Richard R. Denning. 

Mother Iona Moreland Murrell

Iona MurrellWith heart felt sympathy, the Davis Funeral home 301 North Oak street, Ocilla Georgia announces the death and Home going celebration for mother Iona Moreland Murrell of Ocilla Georgia.  Born July 25, 1925 in Ocilla Irwin county Georgia to the late Harry and Georgia Miller Moreland. A dictated member of the Mathis Chapel Missionary Baptist church, mother Murrell served as an usher and many other capacities of the church.  She was preceded in death by one son: Mr. Eddie Murrell Jr.  Mother Murrell leaves to cherish her memories her children: Mr. Edward Murrell of Lithonia, Ga., Mr. Earnest (Yvonne) Murrell of Jacksonville Fla., Ms. Patricia Eunice and Ms. Gertha Murrell of Jacksonville Fla.  One daughter in law Ms. Arlinda Murrell of Ocilla Ga.  Siblings:  Mr. Roosevelt Moreland of Jacksonville Fla., sister in law Ms. Lillie Moreland of Brunswick Ga.  Grandchildren: Eric (Lidia) Murrell, Lithonia Ga.,  Gray (Tammy) Murrell of Stockbridge Ga., Brittany (Jermille) Murrell Freeman and Cheryl Eunice of Jacksonville Fla.  Charlene (Tony) Murrell Smith of Stockbridge Ga.  and Varetta (Moses) Murrell Allen of Blackville, South Carolina.  Also a host of great grands,nieces nephews cousins relatives and friends.

Jones pastor of Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal church  of Hartford Ct. will deliver the eulogy, Interment will follow in the Ocilla city cemetery on North Oak street in Ocilla.  Mother Murrell will lie in state at the Davis funeral home in Ocilla, Friday morning 10:00 until 7:00 p.m. and at the church Saturday morning 10:00 until the funeral hour.  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.
