Ms. Sarah Mae Pickett

With sincere sympathy the Davis funeral home 301 North Oak street, Ocilla Georgia announces the death and home going celebration for Ms. Sarah Mae Pickett.  Born October 7, 1948 to the late Earnest and Irene Pickett  in Ocilla Irwin county Georgia.  Ms. Pickett received her public school education from the Irwin county school system.  She departed this life on September 6, 2018.  She leaves to cherish her memories her children:  Mr. Eddie Colbert (Sarah) of Lakeland Ga., Mr. Robert Lee Colbert and Mr. Marshall D. Colbert both of Ocilla Ga., Mr. Curtis J. Colbert of Fitzgerald Ga., and Ms. Betty  of Ocilla Ga.  One sister: Ms. Christine Pickett of Fitzgerald Ga.  Two brothers: Mr. Earnest Pickett Jr. of Nashville Ga., and Mr. Herman Pickett of Ocilla Ga.  Eight Grandchildren and One Great grandchild.  also a host of nieces nephews, cousins relatives and friends.

Mrs. Doretha C. Harris

Harris, 405 North Cherry Street Ocilla Georgia.  Born March 29, 1944 to the late Elijah and Essie Mae Frances Ty-Cobb in Ocilla Irwin county Georgia.  Mrs. Harris is survived by her children:  Ms. Gloria Cobb of Ocilla Ga., Ms. Frances Cradic of Valdosta Ga.,  Ms. Vanessa (Justin) Harris of Douglas Ga.  Mr. Anthony Cobb, Mr. Terry Cradic (LaShawn) of Orlando Fla., Mr. Rodney Harris of Valdosta Ga., Mr. Ozee Harris , Mr. Willie Harris Jr. of Fitzgerald Ga. and Mr. Otis Harris of Jacksonville Fla.  One sister: Mrs. Elizabeth (Oscar) Beacham of Orlando Fla.  24 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces nephews cousins relatives and friends.

Mr. Matthew Johnson Sr.

Born February 11, 1935 in Valdosta Lowndes county Georgia to the late Joseph and Georgia Howard Johnson.  Mr. Johnson departed this life on Monday August 13, 2018 at Coffee Regional Medical Center, Douglas Georgia surrounded by his loving Family. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife: Mrs. Ida Mae George Johnson of Ocilla.  Children: Ms. Betty Johnson of Miami Fla., Ms. Jennifer Johnson, Mr. Douglas (Debra) Johnson, Mrs. Precious Blanding all of Ocilla.  Ms. Jamie Blanding of Atlanta Georgia.  Sibling:  Ms. Betty White of Miami Fla., Ms. Mary Johnson of Valdosta Ga., Mr. Mark Johnson of Miami Fla. and Mr. Luke Johnson of Valdosta Ga.  also a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother in laws, sister in laws daughter and son in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins relatives and friends.

Mr. Willie Edward "Bummer" Stepherson

Willie StephersonWith sadness in our hearts the Davis funeral home  301 North Oak street Ocilla, Georgia announces the death and home going celebration for Mr. Willie Edward  "Bummer" Stepherson of 691 Broxton Highway, Fitzgerald Georgia.  Born May 14, 1941 In Irwin county, to the late Deacon William "Bud" J. Stepherson and the late mother Lila Clemons Stepherson. Uncle Bummer as he was affectionately known by many, was educated in the Irwin county school system. Willie accepted the lord as his personal savior at an early age as an active member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist church in Osierfield Georgia.  Willie cultivated and developed his professional career in Danbury, Connecticut for many years as an employee of the Shepherd Warehouse Company.  He also, maintained his spiritual relationship with God as a member of the Mt. Pleasant AME Zion Church until he relocated to Fitzgerald Georgia and recommitted to the Friendship Missionary Baptist church of Osierfield Georgia.

Ms. Etta Mae Troy

Let not your hearts be troubled, ye believe in God, believe also in me.  In my fathers house are many mansions:  if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 
Etta Mae TroyWith sincerely sympathy, the Davis funeral home 301 North Oak street, Ocilla, Georgia announces the death and home going celebration for Ms. Etta Mae Troy of 514 cornflower Road, Ocilla Georgia.  Born April 6, 1945 to the late Mrs. Ella Mae Troy Blue and Mr. James Williams.  At an early age, she joined the New Bethel Baptist church, Lax Georgia, and later joined the Zion Hill baptist church of Birmingham Alabama, where she was a member for over 30 years.  Etta served a lead singer in the adult choir, an usher, and a member of the matrons of Zion Hill Baptist church of Birmingham, Alabama.

Mother Ethel Bell Clark Rivers

Ethel RiversWith sincere sympathy the Davis funeral home 301 North Oak Street  Ocilla Georgia announces the death and home going celebration for Mother Ethel Bell Clark Rivers of 1648 Oakes Road, Ashburn Turner county Georgia.  Born October 17, 1938, to the late Sam and Vinnie Clark, in Worth county Sylvester, Georgia.  At an early age mother Rivers joined the New Mt. Pleasant Baptist church where she served as a faithful member until her health failed.  She answered the lord's call and went home to receive her reward on June 24, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  As a member of New Mt. Pleasant mother Rivers served as a choir member for over 50 years, and later was selected as church mother and served faithful until her health failed.
Early in life she met and  married the love of her life Deacon Henry Lee Rivers Sr. who preceded her in death.
Mother Rivers leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters:  Ms. Rosie Evans, Mrs. Della Henry, Mrs. Essie Jackson, and  Mrs. Earnestine Maddie all of Ashburn Georgia.  Three sons:  Mr. Henry Lee (Sandra) Rivers Jr.,  Mr. McArthur Rivers of Ashburn Georgia. Mr. Willie (Tamika) Hammock of Tifton Georgia.   Sisters:  Ms. Christine (Eddie B.) Tukes, of Ashburn Georgia. Ms. Dorothy Brown of Malborne Florida, and Ms. Mary Grace Clark of Atlanta Georgia.  One brother: Mr. Jimmy (Needa) Clark of Malborne Florida.  24 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren.  One adopted son: Mr. Floyd (Robin) Nelson of Pavo Georgia.  Also a host of sister in laws, brothers in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins relatives and friends.
 
A home going celebration for mother Ethel Bell Clark Rivers, has been planed for Saturday June 30th 2018 at 1:00 p.m. from the New Mt. Pleasant Baptist church 200 Dunlap circle, Coverdale Georgia, where the Rev. Jerry Braswell serves as pastor.  Eulogy will be delivered by the pastor, interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Mother Rivers will lie in state at the New Mt. Pleasant Baptist church on Friday 12:00 Noon until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday 12:00 noon until the funeral hour.  The family will receive friends on Friday evening 6:00 until 7:00 at the New Mt. Pleasant Baptist church.  The Davis funeral home of Ocilla has charge of all arrangements.
